Is smoking allowed onsite?
  • Please note that the premises are stricktly no smoking.
What time is Breakfast served?
  • Breakfast is served from 8.30am - 10.00am. If you require breakfast outside these times, please advise on your booking request.
What time can i check in and out?
  • Check in is from 5.00pm. Please let us know at the earliest opportunity should you be arriving after 5.00pm so we can ensure someone is available to greet you.
  • Check out is 10.00 am. If you require a later check out, please ask prior to your departure day.
  • Minimum length of stay is two nights
Is there anywhere close by where i can get lunch or dinner?
  • Yes, we recommend

How can i reach the island by Car?
  • The Island is joined to the Scottish mainland by the Skye Bridge. Alternatively you could cross with your car on one of the many ferries which run varies routes.
How far away is the Skye bridge?
  • 42 miles
How far away is the town of Portree?
  • 12 miles, just follow the A850
How can i reach the island by Bus?
  • Buses run from Inverness and Glasgow
How can i reach the island by Ferry?
  • Ferries sail from Mallaig on the mainland to Armadale (53 miles away), and from Glenelg on the mainland to Kylerhea (48 miles away). 
  • Ferries also run from Uig (19 miles away) to Tarbert on Harris and Lochmaddy on North Uist, and from Sconser (24 miles away) to Raasay. 
  • Ferries run numerous times a day in the summer months but only once  aday in the winter.
Do i need to have a car on the island?
  • Yes we would recommend having access to a car if you would like to see the Island at your pace and see the beatuty of it. The Island might just be 60 miles long but it is a big place with all itís little nooks and crannies.
Can i rent a car on the island?
  • Cars are available for short term rental from both Portree and near to the Skye Bridge.
Is there a local bus service?
  • Yes there is a local bus service, with a bus stop close by should you wish to take advantage of the Island wide bus service, but we would recommend having access to a car as buses can be few and far between.
Can i fly to the island?
  • There is no airport on the island but you can fly to the outer Islands and get the Ferry to Skye. Easy Jet and British Midlands have regular flights from around the UK into Inverness. 
How long does it take to reach the B&B from Inverness?
  • It takes about 3 and a half hours to reach us from Inverness. If you are not driving, then you could either get the bus to Skye or there is a train that will bring you to Kyle of Lochalsh. Then you need to get a bus to Portree and from there it takes 12/15 minutes to reach us
What attractions/activities can be found close by?
  • There is bike hire, paintball, water diving, fishing, other water activities, and lots of bus tours to historic places on the island. Some of the tours also go out to the outer Islands for day trips too. There is also a Castle on the island with impressive grounds to view, and the whole area is abundant with wildlife ranging from the numerous local sea birds to the boat trips that take you out to see the Sea Eagle nests. You may also spot Seals and Dolphins as well.
Can you see the northern lights and if so, what time of the year
  • Yes you can see them around November time. 
 Are there any festivals on the island
  • We have our Highland games in August but a lot of the other local Islands have music festivals. We have recently seen Kevin Bridges, Bill Bailey and Mark Steal playing locally in Portree. 
When is the best time of the year to visit the island?
  • The island has on average 200 hours of sunshine in May but we would recommend coming at any time of the year to view the amazing scenery. We also have the annual Isle of Skye Highland games which take place in August.
